The game started late because of a very exciting sudden victory JV game won by Summit 15-14. Both teams looked very confident and relaxed during pregame and both coaches were prepared for a close contest.

That close game was not to happen. North rolled out to a quick 4-0 lead early in the first quarter and Summit never really seemed to regain their composure. North had their offense working well getting goals from their set offense and on the counter attack. Peter Buelter (6 goals) looked very strong at 2M with Summit trying several defenders without success earning him my POTG.

Summit has quite a bit of team speed that really didn’t play to their advantage in the small Parkway North pool. They did have several quality scoring opportunities in the second half, but they were spoiled by some strong goal tending by North’s Kyle Danuser.

The score was 13-2 at the end of three quarters and that would be the final as North’s coach took his foot off the gas to coast in for the win. I do credit Summit with not ever giving up as they continued to play hard through the end of the game even when the outcome was evident.
