Gateway Water Polo Club was founded in 2018 by Andy Butler (Lindbergh High School Head Coach, USA Water Polo Midwest Zone Assistant Coach). It was formed from the old Flyers Club and the named changed to Gateway to attempt to broaden the membership. Gateway uses Lindbergh High School’s Pool to train and runs 18U, 16U, and 14U Groups in the winter and summer. Our Head 18U Coach is Mitch Griffin (Parkway West, Lindenwood University) and Mitch is joined on the coaching staff by Amar Karahodzic (Lindbergh, Washington University), Ben Holtmann (Lindbergh, Saint Louis University), and Andrew Phillips (Kirkwood, Mizzou). Gateway Water Polo Club had a very successful 1st season with athletes from several area high schools and is looking to continue to grow over the next few years.
