The next Missouri Water Polo Board Meeting will be held Tuesday May 28th at 7:00 PM in the lower level of the Jos. H. White Building in Brentwood (1750 S. Brentwood Blvd.; Brentwood, MO 63144; the building that houses Double D’s across from Whole Foods).

This is an opportunity to select two new board members and elect the leadership for the coming year. I hope many of you join us.

Senior All-Star Festivities – Wednesday May 15th – Rosters Included (Revised)

The Senior All-Star Game and Skills Competition will be held at Lindbergh on Wednesday May 15th at 5:30pm, beginning with the Coaches v. Refs Game. Admission to the pool for the games will be $3.00 per person and there will be a pizza dinner served at the banquet for FREE. We hope to see you there.

Championship game to be on TV

The Championship game will be broadcast by Charter cable thanks to the efforts of Andy Wool and some generous parents from various schools. The game is available on Charter cable #10 (check local listings), and will be shown on Sunday, May 12 at 10:30 AM and 8:00 PM, and on Monday at 8:00 PM (NOTE: If the Blues win game 6 on Friday, the Cardinals game on Monday gets bumped to this channel, and the replay will air after the Cardinal game). It will also be available for FREE on Charter On Demand. You can also purchase a DVD. St. Louis sports personality Randy Karraker will handle the play by play. Be sure to tune in and/or watch the game while it is available. If this is a success, it could become a regular feature. And show up to the game. You never know, you could end up on TV.

Splashball is coming!

We have a pool and we have a coach! Mr. Zach Levko, head coach at Marquette High School, will be running the Splashball program this summer. The program will be for boys and girls 5 to 9 years of age. Practices will be at Warson Woods Swim Club (http://www.warsonwoodsswimclub.com/) every Monday and Thursday in June and July from 9:30am to 10:30am. We don’t have registration open yet – but please spread the word about this exciting youth program!

If you don’t know about Splashball, it is a fun and safe way for youngsters to learn how to play water polo. Kids of all swimming abilities are welcome – just make sure you bring your noodles! This video sums it up quite well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fetN8vD5vs

District Program Ads

It’s that time of year again to support Missouri Water Polo through advertising in the District Program, which not only supports our kids but is also viewed by almost 2,000 spectators! The program is provided free to all fans.

Last year was incredible as a graphic designer produced the best program I’ve seen and the advertisements were vivid and fans really took notice. In the past we’ve had great support from the parents, friends and family of athletes past and present and we hope to have a record year! We’ve really stepped up the activity at Missouri Water Polo, investing more than we can afford in youth programs, club scholarships and tryouts for the Olympic Development Program. We’d appreciate any support you can provide.
