Our Mission Statement

To ensure the development and longevity of the sport of water polo throughout the state of Missouri; Missouri State Water Polo (MWP) will offer the highest quality water polo programs, tournaments, and clinics.

MWP is also committed to the recruitment, training and retention of officials, that will ensure a high level of play for all levels of water polo.

History of Missouri Water Polo, Inc.

In response to the Missouri State High School Activities Association’s proposed changes for the girls and boys swimming and water polo seasons, St. Louis area water polo coaches met to discuss this and other water polo related issues. From these early meetings a committee of coaches and referees began to meet. Seeing the need for a permanent organization, this group – consisting of Leon Ocon, Rob Higgins, Jeff Spector, Bart Prosser, Tim McGinnis, Don Casey, and Jamie Wagner – began discussing the mission and purpose of what was to become Missouri Water Polo.
